Stubb, Putin get invitation to join Trump´s 'Board of Peace' on Gaza

President Alexander Stubb has been invited to join the so-called "Board of Peace" for Gaza that intends to implement the 20-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, local media reported, quoting the Finnish President's office on Monday.

The President Office said that it was reviewing the invitation, reported national broadcaster Yle.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin also has received an invitation to join the Board of Peace on Gaza, and this opportunity is being considered, reported Russian news agency TASS, quoting Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"President Putin has indeed received an offer through diplomatic channels to join this Board of Peace. We are currently studying all the details of this proposal," said the TASS report, quoting Peskov as saying replying to a query.

The White House on January 16, officially announced the names of the members of the Board of Peace for Gaza in a statement.

Trump will serve as the Chairman and the board members include U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
