Finland condoles at bar fire victims in Swiss ski resort

President Alexander Stubb and Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Thursday expressed profound shock at the victims of the fire broke out at a bar in the Crans-Montana ski resort in Valais Canton in southwestern Switzerland.

“I am deeply saddened by the devastating explosion at the ski resort in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Our thoughts are with all those who have lost family members and loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragedy,” Stubb wrote in a post on his social media Platform X.

Valtonen in a post on her X also expressed condolences to victims of the fire.

“It is with great sorrow that I have received the news on the tragic events in Crans-Montana. I want to express my most sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with you,” the Foreign Minister wrote.

Around 40 people were killed and more than 110 others injured after a fire broke out at a bar in the Crans-Montana ski resort in Valais Canton in southwestern Switzerland.
