Missing man found dead in Helsinki

A man, who went missing from Kalasatama area in Helsinki earlier this month, was found dead on Sunday afternoon, police said in a press release.

The body of the 30-year-old man was recovered from the sea near Kalasatama port at about 1:00 p.m.

Earlier, police said that the man was missing from November 2 after he went to spend time at Teurastamo area in Kalasatama in the early morning.

He was seen last time near the sea at the port of small boats at Capellanranta on that day before his disappearance.

The police together with Border Guard conducted extensive searches in the sea after his missing. They used a Border Guard helicopter and police dogs during the operations but failed to find out his whereabout.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

They did not suspect any crime link to the death.

Police are investigating into the incident to know more information in this regard.
