Finland on Sunday strongly condemned the Russian missile and drone attacks on different Ukrainian cities including Kyiv.
President Alexander Stubb and Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen in separate posts on their social media platform X condemned the attacks.
“Overnight, Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Kyiv, again targeting civilians in cold blood. A child and medical workers are confirmed to be among the deceased,” Stubb wrote in his post.
He said that this brutal attack in the aftermath of the UN General Assembly week laid bare Russia’s false narratives of the war and, again, showed the world the true face of the aggressor.
“Now is the time to approve the next EU sanctions package and keep the pressure on Russia’s war machine,” the President added.
Valtonen in her post wrote that another night of massive air attacks on Ukrainian cities.
“Repeated strikes on residential buildings, on homes where children are sleeping. Our support to Ukraine is steadfast. Russia must be forced to end its brutal war,” the Foreign Minister added.
At least four people were killed and 40 others injured in a massive Russian drone and missile attack on Ukraine that lasted more than 12 hours, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday.
