President Alexander Stubb on Friday raised his serious concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the urgent need to ensure access to lifesaving aid for civilians.

The President raised the concern during a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog, said the President Office in a press release.

The Presidents discussed the possibilities for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the political process in the Middle East.

“We must get back to the negotiation table where fundamental concerns of both sides are met and international law is respected. Hostages must be released,” said the press release, quoting Stubb as saying during the telephone conversation.
