31 killed in road mishaps in Finland in Q1

Eleven people were killed and 192 others injured in 150 road accidents in Finland in March this year, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of fatalities was five higher and number of persons injured 16 higher than the numbers in March 2024.

Out of the deceased, nine travelled by passenger ca while two were pedestrians.

Among those who died, six were men and five women.

A total of 31 people were killed and 511 others injured in 403 road traffic accidents in the country in January-March period.

The number of deaths was two lower and the number of persons injured 42 lower in the first quarter of 2025 than in the corresponding period of 2024.

Of the persons who were killed, 24 travelled by passenger car, two by van and one by lorry.

Three pedestrians and one other road user were among the deceased.
