Finnish peacekeeper injured in explosion in Lebanon

A Finnish peacekeeper serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) UNIFIL was injured in an explosion on Wednesday morning, said Finnish Army in a press release.
The explosion took place when the platoon was carrying out a scheduled patrol in southern region of Lebanon at about 9:00 a.m.
The Finnish peacekeeper sustained wounds at lower limb. The peacekeeper was taken to hospital immediately after giving first aid on the spot.
The authority communicated with the relatives of the injured peacekeeper in this regard.
All peacekeepers serving in the operation and the relatives of the injured person are being offered counselling following the incident.
The UNIFIL team is investigating into the incident.
