Outsider threatens pupils with knife inside Turku school

A miscreant equipped with a sharp knife entered into a school and created panic among the students at Aninkainen in Turku on Tuesday afternoon, police said in a press release.

Police said that the incident took place at about 1:40 pm when the man entered into the Aninkainen school compound and threatened two students with the knife.

The students, however, managed to escape any possible attack and rushed to the teachers' room to take shelter there.

Responding to an emergency alarm from the students, several patrols of police rushed to the school but failed to arrest the man as he already fled away.

The members of the law enforcing agency remained present at the spot until the end of school to avoid any further unwanted situation.

Police, however, identified the man, who was suspected of making illegal threat after examining the surveillance camera of the school.

Police said that he was not a student of the school.

The police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind it.
