Woman held for stabbing boyfriend in Varkaus

One person was injured when his girlfriend attacked him with a knife at Päiviönsaari area in Varkaus, a municipality in the Eastern Finland on Monday, police said.

The incident took place when the couple engaged in a quarrel inside a private apartment and at a certain stage the girlfriend attacked her boyfriend with a knife.

The boyfriend sustained wound at his arm and was taken to the Varkaus hospital. Police arrested the girlfriend after the incident.

The police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victim and the accused.

The police are investigating into the incident as aggravated assault.
