Elderly man killed in snowmobile accident in Kolari

An elderly man was killed in a snowmobile accident at Ylläs area in Kolari, a municipality under Lapland region, Police said in a press release late Monday night.

The accident took place when a 60-year old man along with his friend was driving the snowmobile at the area.

At certain stage, the speeding snowmobile fell into a ditch and collided with a roadside tree.

The elderly man sustained serious wounds in the accident and died on the spot.

The Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

The police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the accident.
