Stalemate at the stevedoring at ports and three collective agreement sectors in road transport: trucking, tanker and oil products continued as negotiation talks between Finnish Transport Workers’ Union (Auto- ja Kuljetusalan Työntekijäliitto- AKT) and Finnish Port Operators' Association ended late Sunday night without any fruitful result.

Ismo Kokko, leader of the AKT held a negotiation meeting with Juha Mutru, Managing Director of the Finnish Port Operators' Association from Sunday afternoon to late night at the national labour mediator's office in Helsinki but failed to find out any amicable solution.

The AKT after the meeting in a twitter post wrote that it rejected the proposal made by the Port Operators' Association.

The AKT has started a tougher strike on February 15 demanding solution to collective agreement disputes.

The ongoing strike also affected various sectors including flight operations, postal delivery, waste and fuel transportation etc.
