Finns in favour joining NATO without Sweden: Poll

The majority of Finns are in favour of not waiting for its neighbour Sweden in order to join the military alliance NATO, according to a survey published by the local daily Ilta-Sanomat.

According to the research survey conducted by research company Taloustutkimus, 53 percent of respondents were not in favour of waiting for Sweden.

On the other hand, 28 percent of the respondents are in favour of joining NATO together with Sweden. Some 19 percent of the respondents remained undecided on the issue.

Finland and Sweden on formally submitted their applications for NATO membership in May 2022.
