Finland on Saturday strongly condemned firing ballistic missiles by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) , according to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry in a twitter post late Saturday night wrote that Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto also urged DPRK to return to dialogue abandoning its unlawful weapon programs.

“Finland strongly condemns the DPRK missile launches, calls on the DPRK to return to dialogue and abandon its unlawful weapon programs,” the ministry wrote, quoting Haavisto as saying.

DPRK on Saturday fired four short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea, international media reported, quoting South Korean officials.

The missiles flew about 130 kilometers toward the North's western sea.

Pyongyang has launched a series of missiles this week.

North Korea's Foreign Ministry said late Friday that its recent military actions were in response to combined aerial exercises currently being conducted by the US and South Korea.
