Marin marks 200th year of Govt Palace with 8 ex PMs

Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Tuesday celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Government Palace together with eight former Premiers of the country, government sources said.
The Prime Minister hosted a lunch in honour of former prime ministers Matti Vanhanen, Mari Kiviniemi, Jyrki Katainen, Paavo Lipponen, Esko Aho, Anneli Jäätteenmäki, Juha Sipilä and Antti Rinne on the occasion.
The present and former PMs were served festive meals eaten at Finnish manors two hundreds years ago along with sparkling wine aperitifs and red wine.
Designed by German architect Johann Carl Ludwig Engel construction of the Government Palace was completed in September 1822.
