Man killed in car-bus collision in Jyväskylä

One person was killed and another injured in a road accident on road number 4 in Jyväskylä on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The accident took place at about 1:00 pm when a passenger bus collided head on with a private car coming from opposite direction.

Driver of the car, a 30-year-old man died on the spot while driver of the bus was injured.

The bus with about 20 passengers onboard was bound for Toivakka and the private car coming from Jyväskylä was trying to overtake another private car resulting the collision with the bus.

Some passengers of the bus also sustained minor wounds in the accident, said police.

The Police, however, did not divulge details about the deceased.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
