Tervola municipality to pay €6000 to new baby

The municipality of Tervola in Lapland has decided to increase its baby allowance to 6000 euros from the existing 500 euros with the view to attract young families to move to the municipality.

The authority will pay the increased amount per child from the beginning of 2023, said the municipality in a press release on Friday.

The allowance will be given to the family living officially in Tervola at the time of the child´s birth.

The amount will be paid in five years- 2000 euros per child in the first year and 1000 euros every year on the following four years.

If the due date of the baby´s birth is in 2023 but born in this year, will also get the amount of 6000 euros.
