Niinistö, Raisi discuss Iran nuke deal in NY

President Sauli Niinistö on Wednesday met with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi in New York in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly week and discussed various issues including Iran nuclear agreement (JCPOA) and death of Mahsa Amini.

Niinistö expressed his concern over the continuing Iranian nuclear program, said the President Office in a press release on Thursday.

Russia’s war in Ukraine was also discussed.

Niinistö stressed that it is important to thoroughly investigate the death of Mahsa Amini, the press release added.
