Schoolboy killed in road mishap in Pihtipudas

A schoolboy was killed in a road mishap in Pihtipudas, a municipality under Central Finland region on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The accident took place when an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) skidded off the road after the driver lost control on the vehicle due to unknown reason.

Driver of the ATV, a middle school-age boy was killed on the spot in the accident.

Responding to an alarm, members of the rescue services rushed to the scene and recovered the body from there.

Police did not divulge the identity of the victim.

Members of the law enforcing agency are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind death.

The police, however, did not suspect link to any crime in connection with the incident.
