Finland sends expert to Pakistan to help handling floods

Finland has sent an expert in international civil protection to Pakistan to assist in coordinating humanitarian aid related to monsoon floods, said Ministry of the Interior in a press release.
The expert left Finland on Tuesday.
The expert will work as a logistics expert as part of the European Union Civil Protection Team. According to a preliminary estimate, the mission will last about two weeks.
The expert was sent to Pakistan as part of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, through which Pakistan has requested international assistance.
Pelastusopisto – Emergency Services Academy Finland is the employer of the posted expert.
