3 suspected bandits, thief held in Vantaa, Rovaniemi

Bandits took away valuables and cash from a shop at gunpoint at Rekola area in Vantaa on Sunday morning, said police in a press release.
Police said that two alleged robbers stormed into the shop at about 10:00 a.m. and snatched cash and tobacco products from the cashier at gunpoint and managed to escape.
Responding an alarm, a squad of police rushed to the spot and conducted extensive search based on information from the eyewitnesses.
Members of the law enforcing agency later arrested one of the suspects from the nearby road while the rest one was arrested from behind a nearby refueling station.
Police, however, did not divulge the identities to the alleged robbers.
Police lodged a case of aggravated robbery in connection with the incent.
Meanwhile, police arrested one alleged thief on charge of stealing an electric scooter from in front of a shopping center in Rovaniemi on Saturday morning.
The police identified the thief from the surveillance camera recording and arrested him on the same day, said police in another press release on Sunday.
Police also said that another electric scooter was also stolen in between late Thursday and early Friday night.
The identity of the alleged thief could not be known.
