Teenage cyclist killed in road mishap in Laitila

A teenage cyclist was killed in a road accident at Ukitie area in Laitila, a municipality in Southwest Finland, police said in a press release on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old boy, who was riding a bicycle was wounded critically in the accident when a truck overtook him on Monday afternoon.

He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on Tuesday.

The Police, however, did not divulge details about the identity of the deceased.

The police are investigating whether the truck driver was responsible for endangering traffic safety and resulted the death.

The Accident Investigation Board is investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
