1 killed in road mishap in Rusko, 1 drowns in Kuhmoinen

One person was killed and another injured in a road accident in Rusko while another person was drowned in Kuhmoinen on Friday, police said in separate press releasees on Saturday.

The road accident took place when a private car with two people onboard skidded off on Lähteenmäentie road in Rusko and collided with a roadside tree late Friday night at about 9:00pm.

Driver of the car was killed on the spot while the passenger was injured critically.

Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The injured person was sent to the hospital.

Police did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the wounded persons.

Meanwhile, one person was drowned in Hahmajärvi in Kuhmoinen, a municipality under Pirkanmaa region on Friday afternoon.

Rescue services people and police rushed to the spot responding to a call at about 5:00 pm and recovered the body from the water.

The identity of the dead could not be known.

Police are investigating into the death to find out the reason behind the incident.
