Elderly man drowns in Oulu

An elderly man was drowned in Kiiminkijoki river near Lukkarintie area in Oulu on Saturday morning, police said in a press release.

Rescue services people rushed to the spot responding to an alarm at about 8:15 am and recovered the body from the water.

Police and rescue people, however, failed to find out the detail about the incident as there was no eyewitness.

The police did not disclose the identity of the deceased but said that the victim is an elderly man hailed from Oulu.

Police are investigating into the death to find out the reason behind the incident.
