Russia expelled two staff members of the Embassy of Finland in Moscow, said the Ministry for Foreign Affair in a press release.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation notified Ambassador of Finland Antti Helanterä of their decision on Tuesday.

Russia has announced corresponding measures also regarding several countries that have expelled Russian diplomats.

The expulsion of staff members of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow by Russia is a countermeasure to Finland’s decision on Friday 8 April to expel two members of the sent personnel of the Embassy of Russia in Helsinki.

The decision by Russia is not related to the activities of the expelled individuals. They must leave Russia within two weeks.
