Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) Boris Johnson will visit Finland on Wednesday, said the Office of the President of Finland in a press release on Tuesday.

He will hold a meeting with President Sauli Niinistö during his visit.

In their meeting, they will discuss Ukraine and the security situation in Europe. Following their discussions, the President and British Premier will hold a joint press conference.

President Niinistö and Prime Minister Johnson last met in connection with the JEF Leaders’ Summit in London in March this year.

Niinistö had a bilateral meeting with Johnson at latter’s official residence at Downing Street 10 and held an in-depth discussion on the situation in Ukraine, Russia and European security.

Johnson is also scheduled to visit Sweden during the same trip, media reported.

The sudden visit of the UK Prime Minister will take place when Finland and Sweden are going to take decisions regarding their NATO membership applications this week.
