Security solution is matter of ensuring Finland’s security

President Sauli Niinistö on Friday held a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs and discussed the government report on changes in the security environment and the strengthening of Finland’s security, said the President Office in a press release.

”The security solution is a matter of ensuring Finland’s security. This is not a zero-sum game, it is without detriment to anyone”, said Niinistö.

The President meets regularly with Parliamentary Committees to discuss current issues with them.

President Sauli Niinistö on Thursday said that the process taken by Finland in March regarding NATO membership application is getting its finishing touches and he will disclose his position on the issue by May 12.

He met with the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of Parliament, the Chairs of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the leaders of parties elected to Parliament and discussed the government report on changes in the security environment and the strengthening of Finland’s security,

The President last met with the Foreign Affairs Committee on 9 March 2022.
