President discharged from hospital

President Sauli Niinistö has returned to his official residence Mäntyniemi on Wednesday following in-hospital monitoring at Meilahti, said the President Office in a press release in the afternnon.
His recovery from pneumonia will continue at home.
Niinistö is feeling well and will continue to work remotely from Mäntyniemi.
The President Office, however, said that possible changes to the President’s programme will be announced separately.
Niinistö was admitted to hospital on Tuesday for monitoring due to prolonged COVID-19 symptoms.
Earlier, the President announced that he will not participate in the main Veterans' Day commemoration this year scheduled for Wednesday following his coronavirus infection.
