Robbery in Joensuu, bandits held

Bandits took away valuables from a person after wounding the victim at Kiulutie area in Joensuu on Sunday morning.

Police said that two suspected bandits attacked one person near an apartment building at the area in the early morning at about 6:30 and took valuables after beating the person.

Responding to an alarm, police rushed to the spot and arrested the two suspects from the adjoining area in connection with the incident.

Police, however, did not divulge detail about the identities of the victim and the suspects but said that the injury of the victim was not serious.

Police also urged the people, who witnessed the incident to give contact details so that the member of the law enforcing agency could communicate with them, if necessary.
