Niinistö, Bennett discuss Ukraine war, mediation efforts over phone

President Sauli Niinistö on Sunday held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and discussed Russia´s attack om Ukraine.

They also discussed Israel’s mediation efforts, according to a twitter post of Niinistö.

“Spoke on the phone with Prime Minister of Israel @naftalibennett. We discussed the war in Ukraine and Israel’s mediation efforts,” Niinistö wrote in his twitter, adding that he expressed his deep condolences over the recent terrorist attacks in Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett convened the Ministerial Committee on National Security Affairs (the Security Cabinet) on Sunday.

The operational situation in the various sectors following the recent terrorist attacks was presented, as were all aspects of the efforts being made by the security bodies, said the Israeli Prime Minister Office in a press release.
