Mother kills herself, minor son in Raisio

A mother reportedly killed herself and her minor son at Raisio, a municipality near Turku city in Southwest Finland on Friday, said police in a press release on Monday.

The murders might have been taken place as a sequel to family matter and no other party is suspected in connections with the incident, said police after preliminary investigation.

Responding to a call, police rushed to the spot on Friday afternoon and recovered the bodies of the mother and her son, a primary school student.

Police made the preliminary report based on forensic and tactical investigation.

Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the deceased and detail information about the deaths at the initial stage of the investigation.

Police are investigating into the case as murders to find out the reason behind the incident.

The police in southwestern Finland also asked forensic department of the Turku University Central Hospital (Tyks) to provide the law enforcing authorities with necessary medical reports in this regard.
