Man stabbed to death at Ii

One person was stabbed to death at Ii, a municipality near Oulu in North Ostrobothnia region on Saturday morning, police said.

Oulu police said that the incident took place at a private residence in the Ii city centre, about 35 kilometers away from Oulu city when the miscreant attacked the victim with sharp weapon. The victim died on the spot.

Responding to an emergency call police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased.

Police said that both the suspect and the victim are the local men and they knew each other.

Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the attacker and the deceased at the initial stage of the investigation.

Police are investigating into the incident as murder and interrogating the eyewitnesses to find out the reason behind the incident.
