Niinistö, Biden discuss Ukraine situation over phone

President Sauli Niinistö on Tuesday held a phone conversation with his counterpart of the United States Joseph R. Biden and discussed European security situation, the serious tensions at the borders of Ukraine and possibilities for finding solutions.

The phone call initiated by the United States was the continuation of the telephone conversation between the presidents held on 13 December 2021, said the Office of the President of Finland in a press release.

On 13 December 2021, President Niinistö Biden discussed various bilateral and international issues including the worrisome situation at the borders of Ukraine.

The presidents considered it important to cooperate in order to find a diplomatic resolution to the tense situation at the borders of Ukraine.
