Man held for killing parents in Vantaa

A man allegedly killed his parents in Vantaa over the weekend any time in between Friday and Sunday, Eastern Uusimaa police said on Monday.

The police also arrested the suspect of 37 years late Sunday night in connections with the murders following extensive searches at the area.

“Police arrested the suspect on Sunday night. He is suspected of two murders. Victims of the murders and the suspect belong to the same family,” investigation chief of the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department Tero Tyynelä said in a press release.

The police, however, did not divulge detail identities of the victims and the suspect at the initial stage of the investigation.

They also did not disclose anything more about the murders.

Tyynelä said that the investigation of the case is at the early stage and everything will be clear after the investigation.

“We cannot disclose the incident to people at this moment because it may hamper the investigation process,” the police officials said.
