15 killed in road mishaps in September

A total of 15 persons were killed and 393 others injured in road accidents in the country September, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of persons killed was one higher and that of persons injured 10 lower than in September 2020.

Of the persons who were killed, 10 travelled by passenger car, two by motorcycle and one by lorry.

Cyclists killed in road traffic accidents numbered two.

Among the deceased, 11 were men and four were women.

Meanwhile, a total of 154 persons were killed and 2,880 others injured in 2,400 road traffic accidents in January to September period.

The number of persons killed was 12 lower and that of persons injured 461 lower than in the corresponding period of 2020.

Out of the deceased 86 travelled by passenger car, eight by van, two by moped, 23 by motorcycle and three by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered 14 and cyclists 13. In addition, five other road users were killed.
