Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to arrive in Helsinki on Friday afternoon on a two-day private visit.

‘She will be in Helsinki on a private visit,’ Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said in a press briefing in Dhaka on Thursday.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry her entourage from Dhaka to the Finnish capital.

Sheikh Hasina will be accompanied by her youngest sister Sheikh Rehana, who happens to be the mother-in-law of Peppi Kiviniemi, a Finnish national and an official of the International Organisation for Migration in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Bangladesh premier will leave Helsinki on Sunday for New York to join the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Sheikh Hasina last visited Finland in June, 2019.
