1 killed in road mishap at Muhos

One person was killed in a road accident at Muhos in Northern Ostrobothnia region on Saturday morning.

Police said that the accident took place at about 11: 00 a.m. when a private car skidded off and fell into a roadside ditch. The car collided with a tree in the ditch resulting death of the driver.

The deceased is a 66 years old man and there was no other passenger in the car.

The car was taking turn at the intersection of Ratatie and Kylmälänkyläntie on its way to Utajärvi at the time of accident, said police, quoting eyewitness.

Details about the accident and the victim could not be known immediately.

Oulu police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the case.
