Finland, Sweden to discuss security cooperation today

Foreign Minister Timo Soini will meet his Swedish counterpart Margot Wallström in Finland on Wednesday, said an official press release.

Meeting between the foreign ministers of the neighbouring countries is related to the Hanalys Conference on cooperation in foreign and security policy matters, organised at Hanaholmen, Espoo.

The topics of their bilateral discussions will include the security policy situation in the Baltic Sea, Russia, deepening of the foreign and security policy cooperation between Finland and Sweden as well as cooperation related to the European Union’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

In addition to their bilateral meeting, the Foreign Ministers will attend the Hanalys Conference at the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre Hanaholmen.

Soini will make the opening address of the Conference and Wallström, for her part, will give the concluding remarks.
