The police said on Friday it released the last man in detention except the main suspect for the stabbing attack in Turku two weeks ago.

The man had been in court-authorized detention since Tuesday last week as a suspect related to the stabbings, but the police announced on Friday he was no longer a suspect.

Even though the name of the man was mentioned earlier during the week as he had apparently used a wrong name, media no longer mentioned the name on Friday in line with the Finnish privacy practice.

For the time being, only the main suspect, identified as Abderrahman Bouanane, remains in custody. He has been charged with two murders related with terrorist motivation.

Bouanane was said to have compiled a manifest and distributed before he allegedly stabbed people in central Turku, southwestern Finland on Aug. 18, killing two and wounding eight others.
