1 killed, 1 injured in road mishap in Raahe

An elderly person was killed and another injured in a road accident at Siikajoentie in Raahe on Wednesday afternoon, said the police.

The accident took place when a private car skidded off the road and fell into the roadside area while taking turn towards Raahe on the curved road.

The elderly man, who was driving the car, died in the accident while another person onboard the car was injured.

The police and rescue service personnel along with a helicopter rushed to the spot and conducted the rescue operation.

Details about the victims could not be known immediately and the police will give further information in this regard later.

The police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the case.
