12 killed in road mishaps in November

A total of 12 people were killed and 367 other injured in 301 road accidents in the country in November, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of persons killed was four higher and that of persons injured 26 higher than in November 2019.

Out of the deceased, five travelled by passenger car and two by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered three and cyclists two.

Among those who died, 10 were men and two were women.

Meanwhile, a total of 196 persons were killed and 4,068 other injured in 3,322 road accidents from January to November.

The number of persons killed was two higher and that of persons injured 497 lower than in the corresponding period of 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, 114 travelled by passenger car, nine by van, two by moped, 18 by motorcycle and two by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered 20 and cyclists 23. In addition, eight other road users were killed.
