Interior minister receives threats, 1 held

Interior Minister Maria Ohisalo on Wednesday lodged a criminal complaint with the police, after she had received threats.
Ohisalo, also the chair of VihreäLiitto (Green League), in a Twitter post said that the prosecutor filed a lawsuit for the threats. A hearing in this regard will be held at the Helsinki District Court on 17 November.
“I have received threats, which the police filed as a criminal complaint. I have given a statement to the police. Now the prosecutor has filed a suit for illegal threat. Hearing in this regard will be held at Helsinki District Court on 17 November,” Ohisalo said in her Twitter post on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, the police arrested a 30-year-old man, a resident of Helsinki in connection with the threats, reported the national broadcaster Yle.
The incident of threatening took place in October and the police are investigating it as illegal threatening, the Yle report quoted the minister as saying.
