The majority of the lawmakers in the Finnish parliament hold that the tenure of US President Donald Trump was not good for Finland, found a survey conducted by the national broadcaster Yle.
A total of 140 out of 200 lawmakers took part in the survey, where 89 said they did not consider Trump’s term was good for Finland, the Yle reported quoting the survey findings..
However, 19 other lawmakers said Trump had been good for Finland, while 32 MPs refrained from answering to this survey question.
Many MPs who termed Trump’s tenure ‘not good’ pointed out that the US president has had a bad influence on international agreements.
No respondent from the Vihreä Liitto (Green League) said Trump’s term was good for Finland, and only one MP from the Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) and the Suomenruotsalainenkansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland-RKP) was not sure.
The majority of MPs of the populist Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) who participated in the survey said they thought Trump’s term had been good for Finland.
However, they were joined in agreement by three MPs from the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland) , two from the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) and, two from the SuomenKristillisdemokraati (Christian Democratic Party).
