The embassy of Finland in Yangon, Myanmar resumed its operations on Sunday after about four and a half month of break following the coronavirus outbreak, said the foreign ministry in a press release on Monday.

The embassy had to temporarily suspend its operations on 29 March as its operating conditions had deteriorated due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The embassy is located in a fragile area, which is why its operation and maintenance are subject to special requirements that could not be met.

Travel to and within Myanmar is subject to strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All non-essential travel to Myanmar should still be avoided, added the press release.
