PM goes into self-quarantine after Kesäranta worker tested coronavirus positive

Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Thursday has gone to self-quarantine after a worker of the PM´s official residence Kesäranta was infected by coronavirus.

The primer will be working remotely at Kesäranta until further notice, said a government press release terming the move as a precautionary measure.

The Prime Minister was informed on Wednesday that one of the individuals, who was working at Kesäranta at the end of last week was tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual has been in quarantine ever since the appearance of the symptoms within the close circle, and the individual remains asymptomatic.

When working at Kesäranta, this individual, however, did not meet or encounter the Prime Minister or her family members or her advisory staff.

The possibility of exposure is extremely low. The Prime Minister will continue her work as normal using remote access arrangements.

On Thursday the Prime Minister, using these remote connections, will participate in the meeting of the Ministerial Committee on European Union Affairs, in the hearing of the Grand Committee of Parliament, and in the European Council video conference.

The Prime Minister is being tested for coronavirus and for the time being is continuing to work at Kesäranta using remote access arrangements. She is asymptomatic and feeling fine.
