20 killed in road mishaps in March

At least 20 persons were killed and 270 other injured in 231 road accidents in the country in March, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was six higher and that of persons injured 39 lower than in March 2019.
Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by private car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one and cyclists two. In addition, one other road user was killed.
Among those who died, 16 were men and four were women.
Meanwhile, a total of 54 persons were killed and 953 other injured in 764 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to March period.
The number of persons killed was 14 higher and that of persons injured 54 lower than in the corresponding period of 2019.
Of the persons who were killed, 33 travelled by private car, three by van, one by motorcycle and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered nine and cyclists four. In addition, three other road users were killed.
