The European Green Party (EGP) on Sunday called for enhanced measures against the climate change.
Concluding its council meeting in Tampere, Finland, the EGP urged the European Commission and European Council to halt the finalizing of the free trade agreement with several Latin American countries before proper measures are taken to tackle the climate issues in the region.
In a climate resolution, the EGP also said Europe should reach emission neutrality by 2040 or before.
Greenhouse gas emissions should be cut by at least 65 percent by 2030, to meet the Paris Agreement goals, the party said.
