10,000 laughing gas canisters recovered in Helsinki

The Helsinki police on Thursday recovered 10,000 canisters of laughing gas from an apartment in Helsinki.

The law enforcing agency conducted a search in the house at Punavuori neighborhood of Helsinki and recovered the laughing gas cartridges, said a police bulletin.

The police suspect that the laughing gas was bought to be used as intoxicants.

The cartridges were found in a kind of a "store". The police said that the place is also used to sell laughing gas cartridges.

The "store" had, for instance, a cash register and bank card reading machine," said lead investigator inspector Harri Saaristola of the Helsinki police.

The police are investigating whether the "store" had been selling the cartridges also to minors.

At worst, the use of laughing gas can lead to death.
