Prime Minister Antti Rinne on Wednesday said disagreement on environmental issues between the ruling coalition partners comes as no surprise to him, reported the national broadcaster Yle.

Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland) and Vihreä Liitto (Green League) have exchanged differing opinions during the summer.

The latest comment was made by Keskusta Member of Parliament Hannu Hoskonen who is also the chair of the parliamentary environmental committee. Hoskonen blasted the government forestry policy and plans to reform the mining law.

“These tensions were already identified in the government negotiations. We have certain things in forest policy that we just need to overcome,” said Rinne.

The premier is convinced that the government will work together on climate and forestry policy.
