About 90% of asylum applications of Jehovah's Witnesses members from Russia are rejected, reported national broadcaster Yle.
About 10% of such applications were approved by the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) since the religion's activities were banned in that country in 2017.
After Iraqis, citizens of Russian Federation made up the second-largest nationality applying for asylum in Finland last year.
A senior Migri official estimated that one-third of the 490 applications for international protection from Russian citizens were submitted by Jehovah's Witnesses members.
