Tampere rape suspect is not immigrant: Police

The police on Friday rejected the widely circulated rumors in social media regarding the suspect of the child sexual abuses took place in Tampere on Tuesday and said that the accused is not a foreign origin.
Police made the issue clear following 'widely circulated rumours in the social media that persons involved in the crime are of foreign background'.
"According to the current police information, such allegations have no grounds," said Joni Länsipuro, Detective Inspector, who is leading the investigation in a police bulletin.
Police are investigating into the two separate cases of child sexual abuse that took place on Tuesday in Tampere.
The first case took place in Kalkku at around 7:30 am while the other incident took place in Tesomaa at around 3:30 pm on the same day. The miscreants targeted underaged school girls in both the cases.
After the initial investigation police said that it was not clear about the first incident.
The law enforcers are now investigating the incident of Tesomaa as suspected aggravated rape while the incident of Kalkku was not considered as rape.
Police also said that the suspects the victims met each other after setting up meetings through social media.
The accused, however, could not be arrested till Friday, said police.
